Collagen Induction Therapy
Collagen induction therapy, commonly performed with a derma roller or motorised derma pen, uses fine needles to create thousands of controlled, microscopic channels across the skin's surface. This micro-injury triggers the skin's natural wound-healing response, which includes increased production of collagen and elastin — the proteins that give skin its structure and firmness. In the weeks following treatment, as this natural remodelling continues, skin texture, firmness and the appearance of fine lines, enlarged pores or shallow scarring may gradually improve. Needle depth is adjusted for the treatment area and concern, with topical numbing applied beforehand for comfort. Mild redness, similar to light sunburn, is common for a day or two afterward, after which normal skincare and makeup can typically resume. Because results depend on the body's own response, improvement builds across a course of sessions spaced several weeks apart.
